alternative to tournaments

xD something even better than tournaments... play singles/doubles matches on your own time. Whats the use of rallying 24/7 when you can play a real match and get your mentality, strategy, etc. down. Matches help a lot... Something that I don't see going on often are matches. Players like Vincent, Theo, Alan, etc. are up there because they play so many matches. Best of three sets, tie-break, pro sets, etc. Whatever counts.

Doubles Tournament 10/24/09

So this month's dubs will most likely be held on 10/24. Let me know if anyone has any issues with that date. Also, the girls' captains have proposed to do a mixed doubles tournament instead of our usual. I'm down for it. I like the idea of building better team spirit by doing this tournament. As much as I'd like to focus on stats and results to see the best doubles team, I think it would be great to include the girls in at least one of our events. Besides, mixed doubles are fun. ...

One-Hand Backhand Anyone know any details how to do this? I watch some youtube videos but then i get bored within 10 seconds and then i go back to federer vids xDD so yeah... the one-hand backhand is really interesing. When balls are out of reach of my two hand backhand, i think having a one hand backhand is just as useful. How do you set up for a "running stroke?"
I mean as in having to run for the ball and not having enough time to set up (modern/traditional forehand). What do you do? Just use open stance and rip the racquet across your body?

Serve: Ball Toss

I have a really wild ball toss. This is affecting my serve form, making it useless overall as I have to adapt to the numerous tosses I throw every serve, also costing me many service games. High Forehand Stroke?

I tend to do a reverse forehand when a high ball comes at me. Its like, not high enough for an overhead but not that low either. Kind of like a ball with lots of topspin and I can't back up in time. What should I do? Sort of jump and do a normal forehand? Stay on the ground and do a higher stroke? Reverse forehand?
